“Undoubtedly good fruit” – James Halliday
An earthy, spicy wine that continues to improve in the bottle and offers excellent cellaring potential into the future. Clemens Hill Pinot Noir 2014 is a deep, rounded wine with an earthy, spicy palate. Winner of a Silver Medal at the Tasmanian Wine Show, 2014.
This wine uses fruit sourced only from our Clemens Hill vineyard. 50% wild ferment and 50% cultured yeast, the wine is matured in French oak (15% new) for 12 months with no sulphur dioxide addition and 2 weekly battonage.
“Deep, bright colour. The bouquet is clean and balanced if subtle. Nicely rounded, harmonious palate with soft ample tannins and richness. Quite a big wine, not especially elegant. Very agreeable texture, depth and persistence. Score: 92 Points ” (Huon Hooke, 2012 vintage)
“Deep, clear colour; a complex bouquet of ripe plum, spice and earth, then a powerful palate, providing a replay of the bouquet; needs time to settle down and bring its undoubtedly good fruit to the fore. Score: 91 Points.” (James Halliday, 2012 vintage)
